Waimea Canyon Kauai Hawaii

Waimea Canyon, often referred to as the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific,” is a breathtaking natural landmark on Kauai, Hawaii. Known for its dramatic landscapes, colorful rock formations, and lush vegetation, Waimea Canyon offers numerous opportunities for exploration and appreciation of its unique beauty.

Waimea Canyon is located on the western side of Kauai. It stretches approximately 14 miles long, 1 mile wide, and over 3,600 feet deep. The canyon was formed by erosion from the Waimea River and other natural forces over millions of years, creating its distinctive deep, reddish-brown, and green hues.

There are amazing lookouts and some hikes. A truly spectacular place.
