Torres Del Paine National Park

Maybe the best national park we have ever been to. We loved it.

We hiked to Base las Torres, the final leg of the famous W trail, where we witnessed the breathtaking granite towers at their best.

We also embarked on a boat trip to Grey Glacier, getting up close to one of the park’s stunning natural wonders.

Staying at Hotel Pehoe, known for its unparalleled views and accessed via a narrow bridge, added to the charm of the park.

Exploring the park by both driving and hiking allowed us to fully appreciate its diverse landscapes and abundant wildlife.

We wisely opted for a sturdy rental truck to navigate the park’s rough terrain, ensuring a smooth journey without any flat tires, which we saw all over the place. There are also no gas stations in the park.

Torres del Paine National Park offers unmatched beauty and adventure.

On our hike to Base las Torres, we encountered all four seasons in just a few hours. From hot and sunny to cold, hail and windy. This is not an easy hike but we are glad we were able to complete it.

To reach Grey Glacier, we began our journey at Hotel Lago Grey and boarded a boat that took us across the lake directly to the glacier itself. Along the way, we caught glimpses of the hiking trails that intersect near the glacier, offering opportunities for longer treks. The path to the boat and lake involved a scenic walk along the beach, showcasing breathtaking views that made the journey truly unforgettable.

Our hotel, the Hosteria Pehoe had some of the most spectacular views in the park. We ate breakfast and dinner looking at the peaks and each evening had a bottle of wine. We could not get enough of this view.
