Tarragona is a historic city located in Catalonia, northeastern Spain, on the Mediterranean coast. Known for its rich Roman history, impressive ancient ruins, and vibrant cultural scene, Tarragona offers a unique blend of historical charm and modern amenities.
There is a lot to see in Tarragona, the town, the ancient Roman ruins, the Aquaduct and of course the beaches. The Aqueduct of Tarragona (also known as Pont del Diable, or “Devil’s Bridge”) is one of the most impressive and well-preserved Roman aqueducts in Spain. Located near the city of Tarragona in Catalonia, this ancient engineering marvel is a testament to the sophistication of Roman infrastructure. This is one only aqueduct that we found you can actually walk on top of.
Roman Amphitheatre is an ancient Roman arena located near the Mediterranean Sea. It was built in the 2nd century AD, the amphitheatre could hold up to 15,000 spectators. It’s one of the most significant Roman ruins in Tarragona, offering insights into ancient entertainment and public life.
The beach was also very nice and we enjoyed some beer at the beach cafe.
