This hike had been on my bucket list since I started reading Wilbur Smith 20 years ago. In most of his books someone hikes to the top to Table Mountain to reflect. It did not disappoint. There are so many ways to hike the mountain, we took the Plattekilip Gorge route which is one of the easiest.
A prominent flat-topped mountain that offers panoramic views of the city, beaches, and surrounding ocean. It’s a must-visit for hikers and nature enthusiasts. Ever since I started reading Wilbur Smith, I felt a need to hike this mountain. It did not disappoint. We started in the dark before sunrise and saw the most amazing colors as the sun came up.
