Sweetwater Beach Crete

Sweetwater Beach, also known as Gialiskari Beach, is a beautiful and somewhat secluded beach located on the southern coast of Crete, near the village of Koustogerako in the Rethymno region. It is renowned for its clear waters, scenic beauty, and tranquil environment.

Sweetwater Beach is famous for its crystal-clear, turquoise waters. The beach gets its name from the nearby freshwater springs that flow into the sea, giving the water a unique, refreshing quality.

Sweetwater Beach is not easily accessible by car. The most common way to reach the beach is via a hiking trail or a boat. There is a path that leads from the nearby village of Koustogerako, but it can be steep and rocky. We did the hike here and there were parts that were scary, but well worth it. We took the boat back.
