Shenandoah National Park, located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, is a beautiful and diverse natural area offering a variety of recreational opportunities and scenic vistas. The primary road running the length of the park, Skyline Drive offers breathtaking views of the Shenandoah Valley and the Blue Ridge Mountains. It is a popular route for leaf-peeping in the fall and provides numerous overlooks for photography and sightseeing. We have driven the Skyline drive several times, but never the complete road. We usually start west of Washington D.C. and stop, enjoy the views and do a little hiking and climbing.
