Santorini Beaches and Sunsets

Santorini is famous for a lot of things, but beaches and sunsets are at the top of the list.

We rented a quad and went beach hopping for a few days. One of our favorites was Red Beach which also requires a little bit of a hike. The beach is beautiful, but rocky. We got there early so getting a lounge was no problem, but it did fill up later in the day.

Other beaches we went to included : Kamari and Perissa, which both have black sand and several bars/restaurants right there. We also went to Ylychada and Koloumpos, both less crowded but equally spectacular.

Santorini is renowned for its breathtaking sunsets, which are among the most stunning in the world. The island’s unique geography and dramatic landscapes make it a prime location for spectacular sunset views.

Oia is perhaps the most famous sunset spot on the island. The town’s location on the northern tip of Santorini provides unobstructed views of the sun setting over the caldera. The narrow streets, whitewashed buildings, and iconic blue-domed churches create a picturesque backdrop. Fira, the island’s capital, offers beautiful sunset views from various points along the caldera edge. While it’s not as famous as Oia, it still provides stunning vistas and is less crowded.
