Spain is home to two key sites dedicated to the works and life of Salvador Dalí, the iconic surrealist artist: the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres and the Dalí House in Portlligat.
The Dalí Theatre-Museum is the largest surrealist art museum in the world and was designed by Salvador Dalí himself. It is located in the town of Figueres, which is also Dalí’s birthplace.
Dalí House is located in the small fishing village of Portlligat, which was Dalí’s residence for much of his life. The house itself has been transformed into a museum showcasing the artist’s personal life and creative process.
