Our journey in Ecuador began with Quito, a sprawling city nestled amidst the Andes. Its breathtaking views and high altitude, the second highest of any capital city worldwide, made a lasting impression. Despite the initial challenge of acclimating to the altitude, we explored the city and its surroundings extensively.
Among the highlights were visits to the equator itself and the serene Otavalo, renowned for its vibrant indigenous market. We also trekked through the scenic Cotacachi-Cayapas ecological reserve, immersing ourselves in Ecuador’s natural beauty. Each experience offered a unique glimpse into Ecuadorian culture and its stunning landscapes, leaving us with cherished memories of our time in Quito and beyond.
