Punta del Este, Uruguay, known for its beaches and vibrant atmosphere.
Our first day was marred by rain, but we turned it into a memorable experience by going bar hopping despite getting soaked. The town’s reputation for being pricey in comparison to other South American destinations was apparent, especially with our choice of a budget hotel that resulted in cramped accommodations.
Despite the challenges, we thoroughly enjoyed the food, including a substantial steak plate that was too much to finish. The following day, blessed with sunshine, we took advantage by spending time at both a local beach and one further out of town. Both beaches offered enjoyable experiences with pleasant sand and water, although the strong sun caught us off guard, resulting in some sunburns.
Overall, our trip to Punta del Este was a mix of adventurous exploration, culinary delights, and adapting to the weather—all part of the experience of traveling to such a popular and dynamic destination.
