Honolulu Area Oahu Hawaii

Oahu gets a bad rap sometimes, but there is so much to see and do on this island. Honolulu has traffic, has homeless and is a city, so you get the good and the bad of a city. Near Honolulu, we enjoyed Waikiki beach, the hike up Diamond head, the outrigger and much more.

The outrigger was fun, but I cannot understand how they do not run over people.

Diamond Head State Monument is a volcanic crater. It offers a challenging hike with rewarding panoramic views of Honolulu and the Pacific Ocean from the summit. The trail is about 1.6 miles round trip and includes some steep sections and stairs. The views at the top are well worth the effort. You can see Diamond Head from all of Waikiki beach.

Waikiki Beach is famous for its iconic views of Diamond Head and its long stretch of golden sand, Waikiki Beach is a hub of activity and a popular spot for swimming, surfing, and sunbathing. The views are stunning.
