North Cascades National Park is a rugged, remote wilderness area in northern Washington State, known for its dramatic mountain peaks, alpine lakes, and abundant glaciers. Often called the “American Alps,” this park offers stunning scenery and a variety of outdoor activities. This was our 2nd trip here and we loved it. The east side of the park was closed due to fires, but we still had a tremendous time.

The Thunder Knob Trail is a popular and relatively easy hike in North Cascades National Park, offering stunning views of Diablo Lake and the surrounding mountains. It’s a great option for those looking for a shorter hike with rewarding scenery.
