This is the part of Ireland we loved. While Dublin was nice, the countryside is great. We drove thru dozens of small towns, drove the Ring of Kerry, saw castles, colorful towns, lots of sheep and had a great time.
There is a lot of history and I wish I remembered it all, but the best way to see Ireland is to drive the country. We headed south from Dublin, then west toward the Ring of Kerry, then the Cliffs of Moher which were fogged in, toward Doolin and then Galway.
After Galway, we drove into Northern Ireland, which has a separate post. We could certainly go back and see more of the country.
