Golden Triangle, Thailand

This refers to the region where the borders of Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar meet at the confluence of the Mekong and Ruak rivers. Historically, this area was notorious for its role in the opium trade. Nowadays, it is a popular tourist destination known for its natural beauty, cultural diversity, and historical significance.

One of the best ways to see the Golden Triangle is a trip to the Skywalk. It is more than a bit scary, but the area before the skywalk is built up and there is a beautiful purple temple after the skywalk. They keep the skywalk so clean, you have to wear purple shoe covers. It reminds me over the Grand Canyon West overlook. Skywalk Mae Sai Border, between Thailand and Myanmar.

The purple temple is beautfiul and the girls got blessed by a monk.

The area around the skywalk and the temple is very nice. We couldn’t drive up there, so we took a cute purple type of van.

After the skywalk and temple, we made our way over to the Opium Museum.

On the ride to the Golden Triangle, we stopped at the Chuifong Tea Plantation for tea tastings, awesome to see how they make the tea. We saw them in the fields and it is a beautiful setting.
