Dubrovnik, often referred to as the “Pearl of the Adriatic,” is one of Croatia’s most famous and beautiful cities. Located on the southern coast of the country, Dubrovnik is renowned for its stunning medieval architecture, historic city walls, and breathtaking views of the Adriatic Sea. The city has become an iconic destination for tourists worldwide, offering a blend of rich history, cultural experiences, and natural beauty. Since Game of Thrones, the city has become very overcrowded, we visited in 2009 before it became a major destination for the rest of the world. Overall, this is in our top 10 cities to visit.
Island of Lokrum:
One of our all time favorites bars is in Dubrovnik. Buža Bar is a renowned spot in Dubrovnik, famous for its stunning location and casual atmosphere. It’s built into the cliffs along the city walls, offering breathtaking views of the Adriatic Sea. The bar is known for its relaxed vibe and is a great place to enjoy a drink while watching the sunset. The access is somewhat hidden, which adds to its charm—hence the name “Buža,” which means “hole” in Croatian, reflecting its tucked-away position. It’s a fantastic place to visit if you’re looking for a unique experience in Dubrovnik. A great place to watch the sunset.
While enjoying the city, we also took a kayak tour around the city. It was beautiful but not easy. With the current and the wind, the difficulty level will vary.
