While we wished for more time to explore its national park and beaches, strolling through the charming old town proved to be an enchanting experience. The city’s architecture is a vibrant mix of colors, and its sunsets are truly world-class.
Cartagena offered a delightful mix of attractions, from excellent restaurants and lively bars to unique shopping opportunities. One of our highlights was exploring the trendy and colorful Getsemaní neighborhood, which added a modern flair to the city’s historical charm.
Despite the prevalent safety advisories for Colombia and Cartagena, we found that exercising caution ensured a worry-free visit. With plenty of direct flights from Miami in under three hours, Cartagena was not only accessible but also an alluring destination.
