Our journey through Colombia brought us to Cartagena, a stunning walled city that immediately captivated us. While we wished for more time to explore its national park and beaches, strolling through the charming old town proved to be an enchanting experience. The city’s architecture is a vibrant mix of colors, and its sunsets are truly world-class.
Cartagena offered a delightful mix of attractions, from excellent restaurants and lively bars to unique shopping opportunities. One of our highlights was exploring the trendy and colorful Getsemaní neighborhood, which added a modern flair to the city’s historical charm.
Despite the prevalent safety advisories for Colombia and Cartagena, we found that exercising caution ensured a worry-free visit. With plenty of direct flights from Miami in under three hours, Cartagena was not only accessible but also an alluring destination.
In conclusion, Cartagena left an indelible impression on us, and we would eagerly return to delve deeper into its captivating streets and rich cultural offerings.
