Big Bend National Park

Big Bend National Park, located in far west Texas along the Rio Grande, is known for its dramatic landscapes, diverse ecosystems, and wide range of outdoor activities. The park covers over 800,000 acres and includes portions of the Chihuahuan Desert, the Rio Grande River, and the rugged Chisos Mountains.

We liked this park a lot. It is big and one of the major hikes we wanted to do was closed due to dangerous wildlife on the trails. But we did some great hikes and enjoyed our time here. It is very remote.

We stayed in Marfa which is almost 3 hours away, but a cute small town. We had planned on staying closer to the park, but just couldn’t make it work.
