Auschwitz, known in Polish as Oświęcim, is a town in southern Poland that is home to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum. This site includes the former Nazi concentration and extermination camps, Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II-Birkenau, and serves as a memorial to the victims of the Holocaust.
We had to go, wanted to see it, but it was a very difficult day. It is hard to imagine what people can do to other people. The most horrible place we have ever been.
