Exploring the Amazon turned out to be one of the most memorable experiences we’ve ever had, even though it was a last-minute decision. We stayed at the amazing Hakuna Matata Amazon Lodge and booked the tour with them. They provided us with knee-high boots that were a bit smelly but turned out to be necessary as we hiked through mud and water.
During our trek, we encountered wild monkeys, piranhas, and incredibly unique trees, which made the journey truly special. The trail was remarkably quiet with hardly any other hikers around, creating a peaceful and serene atmosphere.
Our adventure ended at a small swimming hole where we took a refreshing swim before making our way back. While the hike presented some challenges, the overall experience was absolutely worth it.
