Palermo, the vibrant capital of Sicily, is a city brimming with history, culture, and culinary delights, however, we were very disappointed here. The city was not just dirty, but filthy. We were told there are government fights about the garbage, but we don’t really know. Garbage piles all over. Some of the buildings were beautiful, but most very old and some looked to be in need of major repair.
We did have fun here, the food scene is great and we walked around the old city for a few days. There are an enormous amount of bars and restaurants. It was very hot, so we always looked for a place with fans or A/C.
