Canmore is a scenic mountain town in the Canadian Rockies, just east of Banff National Park. It offers many of the same spectacular landscapes as Banff but is often quieter and can be more affordable.
We stayed in Canmore and liked it as a base better than Banff. It is a lot less crowded, easier to park, easier to get into a restaurant and only about 15-20 minutes from Banff.
