Goblin Valley State Park, Utah

Goblin Valley is one of the most surreal and fun stops you can make in southern Utah. It looks like a natural playground filled with thousands of mushroom-shaped rock formations—often called “goblins.”

  • Otherworldly landscape: The hoodoos here aren’t tall like Bryce Canyon National Park—they’re squat, rounded, and densely packed, which makes wandering through them feel like exploring another planet.
  • Free roaming: Unlike many parks, you can walk almost anywhere in the main valley—no strict trails—so it’s great for exploring at your own pace.
