Capitol Reef is one of Utah’s “Mighty 5” parks, but it’s much less crowded than places like Zion National Park or Arches National Park. It protects a massive geologic wrinkle called the Waterpocket Fold—nearly 100 miles long—creating cliffs, domes, canyons, and natural bridges. This was our 2nd trip here and we totally enjoyed this visit. Hickman Bridge and Cassidy Arch are must do hikes.

Gifford House for Pie is a must. Great local pies baked daily, they sell them in a to go box and perfect for a hiking snack. We both had the Cherry Pie and it was excellent.
