We walked the most varied section of the Abel Tasman Coast Track from Medlands to Anchorage with return boat transfers from Kaiteriteri. This walk features the impressive Falls River Swing Bridge (15–20 metres high, depending on the tide height), plus the new swing bridge across the Torrent River, and the longe golden sands of Anchorage Beach. We walked about 8 miles with small elevation gains.

If you want to see the park, this is the way to do it. We drove in, took the boat north and then walked back south to get picked up by the boat 6 hours later. The Hike was great, the views spectacular and the boat ride back was really nice. Going there, the boat was a little cramped, but still pretty.

We crossed a lot of swinging bridges.

Kaiteriteri had parking for a fee and a few places to grab food for the day.
