Kibale Forest NP, Uganda

Kibale Forest National Park is one of Uganda’s most popular wildlife destinations, famous for its dense tropical rainforest and exceptional primate viewing opportunities. It’s located in western Uganda, near Fort Portal.

Kibale is the Primate Capital of the World and is home to 13 primate species, the highest diversity in East Africa. The stars are the Chimpanzees – there are over 1,500 individuals in the park.

Chimp Tracking is a guided trek lasting 2–5 hours to find and observe chimps for one hour.

We were very fortunate in that the chimps were on the ground and in the trees. We have friends that went and the chimps were only in the trees. The sounds are harrowing.

Turn up the volume and listen to the Chimps…
