White Pocket, Arizona

White Pocket is a mesmerizing geological formation located within the Vermilion Cliffs National Monument in northern Arizona. Renowned for its swirling, multicolored Navajo sandstone, the area features domes, hoodoos, gullies, and potholes. Unlike the more famous Coyote Buttes, White Pocket remains relatively uncrowded, offering a serene and photogenic landscape. We loved this place and therefore, we posted a lot of pictures and videos.

Accessing White Pocket requires navigating unpaved roads that demand a high-clearance 4WD vehicle. The journey typically starts from Highway 89. It is not easy to get here as there is deep sand on much of the road. A lot of the pictures may look the same, but we tried to get multiple perspectives.

We went with https://dreamlandtours.net/. They were excellent and would use them again if in the area.

This was the highlight of our April 2025 southwest swing. So different and beautiful.
