Monte Fitz Roy, also known as Cerro Fitz Roy, is a prominent and iconic peak in Patagonia, located on the border between Argentina and Chile. It is celebrated for its dramatic granite faces and is a major landmark in the Los Glaciares National Park in Argentina.
The hike to the Fitz Roy is by far the most popular choice among visitors. After an hour’s walk through beautiful forests and hills, you get to the Fitz Roy viewpoint. After a while we got to a leanto which we were told was a hut, but really just a wood roof protecting us from the rain. The rangers there told us to turn back and not to try to reach the summit. The last part is by far the hardest, but at this point it was dangerous.

When we hiked the weather was not great, thus very few pictures. There was a lot of wind and rain, but still a tremendous adventure.
